从业经历
凯拉-塞吉维克出生在纽约一个富有的家庭里，孩提时代读的是私立学校。从青少年时代开始她就成为了一名职业演员，第一次出镜是在16岁时的《Another World》，毕业于南加州大学，并出现在多部电影中，她的成名作应该是和汤姆克鲁斯一起主演的《生于7月4日》(Born Fourth July)，在和凯文-贝肯合演影片后几个月两人就结婚了，之后两人多次联合主演影片。
凯拉-塞吉维克16岁进军外百老汇舞台，并在电视肥皂剧中演出。打滚多年后，于1985年演出第一部电影，但直至1989年《七月四日诞生》面世，才在好莱坞出人头地。1995年她在《爱情魔力》中饰演茱莉亚罗伯兹的妹妹，获得金球奖提名最佳女配角的肯定。
她凭借在《罪案终结》（The Closer Slippin）中扮演副警长布兰达-约翰逊一角，获得了2007年第59届美国黄金时段艾美奖最佳剧情类电视剧女主角提名。
2009年06月美国好莱坞星光大道上又增添了一颗星，43岁的美国演员凯拉-塞吉维克(Kyra Sedgwick)在影迷们的见证下，揭起了属于自己的一颗星。成为了第2384位好莱坞星光大道的名人。塞吉维克的丈夫著名影凯文-贝肯(Kevin Bacon)也来到现场，向妻子表示祝贺。
